# Ryugado Cave

One of Japan's three great limestone caves, a national historic site. Inside are traces of Yayoi life from 2,000 years ago, and a clay pot the limestone has grown around. Small children can only do the 40-minute sightseeing course, and it needs no booking. The Adventure Course, crawling between rocks, is elementary age and up and guided in Japanese only. People who cannot understand Japanese are not able to join it. An escalator runs up to the cave mouth, and a free rest house sits near the exit.

- Area: kochi
- Type: sightseeing
- Average stay: 40 min
- Hours: The published times are last entry to the cave, not closing time: 8:30-17:00 from 1 February to the end of October, and 8:30-16:30 from 1 November to the end of January. The museum runs on its own clock, open all year, free, with last entry ten minutes earlier - 16:50 and 16:20. The shops and restaurants on the site belong to separate companies and keep their own hours.
