# Hirobun

The somen lane runs along the platform, and noodles come down without warning until a red noodle ends your turn. Only four groups eat at a time, each with its own lane. Below the seats the river runs close enough to dip bare feet in, and the water stays cold even in midsummer. That water is where children pick up stones and peer under the boards. The meal itself is over in minutes, so the river under the platform is what the visit is really made of.

- Area: Kyoto
- Type: Eat
- Hours: Nagashi-somen takes orders from 10:30 to 15:00 in May, June and September, and from 10:30 to 12:00 in July and August.
