# Kusatsu Onsen

That steam may catch a child's eye first: a 2-year-old blew on it excitedly to cool it. Around Yubatake, too, slopes, steps and free foot baths give children plenty to explore. Then a 15-minute stroll from Yubatake past shops leads to Sainokawara Park, where warm spring water flows like a river children can touch. A 4-year-old and a 7-year-old happily hopped across its streams, though their socks got soaked. Back in town, Netsunoyu hall stages a daily yumomi water-stirring show. Here, the hot water itself becomes a plaything.
