# Horyuji Temple

In the Gallery of Temple Treasures, one family's children proved their parent's fear of boredom wrong, eagerly studying the old statues without reading labels. Then there are the stories: the Tamamushi Shrine is named for jewel-beetle wings set under its metal fittings. And praying to the Yumechigai Kannon statue is said to turn bad dreams into good. Outside the gallery, another family's son found the guardian-deity statues' poses cool, while his sister washed her hands at a dragon water basin. So even a temple this old can keep children looking.
