# Nanzen-ji Temple

The 22-meter Sanmon gate pulled a 3½-year-old into a run (May 2017). Climbing it means steep stairs, so one family with a stroller stayed below. Stairs at the brick aqueduct's far end climb to water running fast (October 2022). The pond is where a grade-school child who groaned at "another temple" watched carp and turtles and came to like this one (June 2016). And an old water-channel tunnel kept a 5-year-old wandering (March 2025). Altogether: big things to look up at, small things to look at closely.
