# Osaka Temmangu Shrine

The turtle pond, Hoshiai Pond, lies in the north; one visitor found nine turtles sunning there even in winter. From its bridge you can also throw wish balls, three for 500 yen. Next comes the hand-washing pavilion, where water runs by itself and a stone statue of the mascot Tenmaro stands. In 2017 one family found New Year stalls in the grounds with chocolate bananas and ball scooping. That makes about an hour of things to watch, throw and touch. Mornings are emptier, and it is not a playground.
