# Matsushima

The 50-minute cruise around the bay lets the family sit, and a 3-year-old spent it watching the scenery. Out in open water, wind and sway on the rear deck amused an elementary-school child, though similar islands made that child sleepy partway. Ashore, the see-through bridge to Godaido, a temple hall on an island, is narrow, so small children should hold hands. At Entsuin temple, a prayer-bead workshop starts with choosing your own beads. Cruise first, then loop out from the pier, to cut repeat walking.
