Fukuoka Airport is the gateway to Kyushu, and its domestic terminal sits directly above a Fukuoka City Subway station, about 10 minutes from the business district.
The international terminal stands on the far side of the runway, and no walkway joins the two buildings, so everyone moving between them goes by road on the inter-terminal bus.
Other buses run from the international terminal to Hakata Station and other parts of the city.

If you land on the international side, the subway is across the runway, one free shuttle ride away: 10 to 15 minutes, or 15 to 20 with a stroller.
Once you are across, an elevator runs from the domestic terminal all the way down to the platform, so you can stay on wheels the whole way.
From there it is about 6 minutes to Hakata Station and about 12 to Tenjin, with no transfer to make in between.
Nursing rooms are on every floor, each with private booths and a hot-water dispenser for formula, so you can feed the baby before you head into town.
If you would rather not cross at all, a nonstop bus to Hakata Station leaves the international terminal from stops 6 and 7 every 15 minutes on weekdays, from 8 a.m. until the last departure at 5:45 p.m.

Nothing has to be carried up stairs, so a sleeping baby can stay asleep for the roughly 6 minutes to Hakata Station.There are nursing rooms on every floor, each with a hot water dispenser for formula and private nursing booths. The nursing room in the international terminal also has a baby seat for changing clothes and diapers. Diaper changing tables are in the restrooms on domestic 1F-3F and international 1F-4F. If you land at the international terminal, the free shuttle bus over to the domestic side, where the subway is, takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and with a stroller you should allow another 15 to 20.
