When cold or wet weather rules out a day outside, you can spend it in the water: this hot-spring hotel in a river valley has one of Hokkaido's largest indoor pools.
Kids can splash in the shallow children's area, and tube floats for the splash river rent for 500 yen for 30 minutes.
Children's swimsuits rent for 1,000 yen in sizes 100 to 160 centimeters, and swim diapers sell for 200 yen for little ones still too small for a swimsuit, so nobody has to pack for the pool.
Both the buffet restaurant and the smaller dining room have children's chairs, but the buffet keeps only a few and they are small, with no safety strap.
