Eight zones lead you through African animals, apes and monkeys, Japanese and Asian animals, reptiles, and the big cats. Rhino Terrace shows black rhinos bred here at one of the world's highest rates. Four cheetah cubs, the first ever bred here, are growing up. A forest elephant and its calf live here, and a breeding facility works on the Japanese giant salamander. The zoo also publishes a map of places to shelter in a sudden shower.

- Fee：Adults (18-64) ¥510, adults 65+ ¥170 (photo ID needed to prove age), high-school-age ¥170. Infants and primary/junior-high pupils are free, and on Saturdays outside the school holidays and public holidays the high-school-age fee is waived too. Annual passes cost ¥1,560 / ¥510 and also cover Hiroshima Botanical Garden and the Forest Park Insectarium. Parking is ¥450 for a standard car (about 1,200 spaces). Cards and QR payments work for admission and the first car park only — the restaurant and shops inside take cash■
- Hours：9:00-16:30, last entry 16:00. Closed Thursdays (open when Thursday is a public holiday) and 29 December-1 January; the zoo sometimes opens on closed days in busy periods■
