The aquarium fills two floors inside a shopping mall (Iias Okinawa Toyosaki), about a 20-minute drive from Naha Airport. Parking is free, with room for roughly 3,000 cars, and a public beach sits right in front.
The upper floor is an evergreen subtropical forest with owls, sloths and tortoises, and the penguin area is right beside it.
A bright shallow-water area under a dome on the same floor changes its lighting through the day, so a morning visit and an evening visit do not look the same.
The floor below is the sea: a tunnel you walk through, a jellyfish room of shifting light and sound, and a large tank of marine life from the waters around Okinawa.

If rain cancels the beach, you can get through the whole of this aquarium without stepping outside: it fills two floors inside a shopping mall (Iias Okinawa Toyosaki).
Upstairs is a subtropical forest with owls and sloths, and at the touch pool kids can put a hand in and feel starfish and sharks.
Downstairs is the sea: a cafe faces the big tank, and the nursing room and the diaper-changing space are on that floor too. You come in on the upper floor, so the forest comes first and the sea last.
A stamp on the back of your hand lets you leave and come back the same day on the same ticket.

Also on the 1st floor, Churasan Reef is an underwater tunnel where fish pass overhead as you walk through.The nursing room and the diaper changing space are both on the 1st floor of the aquarium. Every floor has an elevator and ramps, though a few spots are hard to see from a wheelchair. Children 3 and under are free and must be with a guardian. Re-entry is allowed the same day: staff stamp the back of your hand with clear UV ink, and you show the stamp with your ticket to staff by the 2nd-floor entrance gate. One family with a six-month-old spent about three hours in the aquarium alone on a November afternoon.
