Nasu Animal Kingdom is a hillside zoo in Tochigi laid out as two parks in one.
The town half (Kingdom Town) has about fifteen animal houses, from a wolf hill to a penguin village; the farm half (Kingdom Farm) has sheep, kangaroos, horses and alpacas.
Both halves have their own show venues, and the line-up runs from free-flying birds to a farm show performed by shepherds from New Zealand.
The park sits high enough to stay cool in summer: a notice from August 2026 says the grounds run about 5°C (9°F) cooler than the towns below.

The park follows a natural hillside, so the paths run up and down all over the grounds.
The alpacas and the rabbit petting area are in the farm half; you get there on the free shuttle bus, or on the chairlift for 500 yen one way.
A covered walkway in the town half means you can keep going with the stroller in rain without getting wet, and there is a nursing room in each half.
One family with a 3- and 1-year-old stayed from 10:40 a.m. to 3 p.m. on a winter day, lunch in the park included, and that was with the farm half closed for the season.

The park's own notice says this year Nasu Animal Kingdom is five degrees cooler than the town below, so a baby can spend a summer day in outside air.There are three nursing rooms: the Mommy Room beside the entrance gate, one next to Mee-Mee Kitchen in the Farm area, and one by Alpaca Hill. A stroller rents for 500 yen a day and is meant for babies 7 to 24 months and up to 12 kg; there is no reservation and the number is limited. Baby food can be warmed at the restaurants that heat retort pouches or use a microwave — tell the staff when you arrive — and there is a microwave for guests at Yamaneko Terrace. The park follows the natural terrain, so there are ups and downs.
