Shima Spain Village opened on April 22, 1994, as three places sharing one property: a Spanish-themed park called Parque España, a hotel, and a natural hot spring.
The whole site covers 113 hectares (about 280 acres), and Parque España itself takes up 34 hectares (about 84 acres).
The hot spring, Ise-Shima Onsen Himawari no Yu, opened on April 22, 2001, seven years to the day after the park.

Four rides have no height limit at all — the Gaudí Carousel, the Fiesta Train, the Amigo Balloon and the Feliz Cruise — so the smallest child in your group rides with everyone else.
At the Chapu Chapu Lagoon splash area, which has no height limit either, kids run through fountains that shoot about 10 feet up.
Three baby care rooms sit in the main information center, beside the Cambrón Theater and in Columbus Plaza; each has a diaper changing table and a private nursing room, and they sell diapers and wipes if you run out.
A stroller rents for 700 yen at the main information center, and if you leave the park and come back, they hold it for you while you are outside.
