Hitachi Seaside Park is a public park run by Japan's national government, on the Pacific coast in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki, and it has been open since October 1991.
The full plan covers 865 acres, and about 586 of them are in use today, roughly 68 percent.
That open ground is divided into the Miharashi lookout area, the woodland area, the dune area, the West Gate area, the grassland area, and a fairground called the Pleasure Garden.
The fairground's Ferris wheel lifts you 330 feet (100 meters) above sea level.

A train loops the whole park in about 40 minutes with nine stops, so when little legs give out you can ride on to the next area instead of turning back; a day pass costs 600 yen from age 3 up.
Strollers are lent free at every gate, one child up to age 2 per stroller, and no reservations are taken, so you just ask a staff member at whichever gate you come in through.
The park points families with little ones toward the water play area, the Egg Forest, and the big meadow.
Children through junior high get in free, and an adult pays 450 yen, or 800 yen when the nemophila are at their peak.

The Seaside Train loops the park in about 40 minutes with 9 stops and costs nothing for children under 3, so if the baby falls asleep you can ride on to the next stop instead of walking. Nemophila covers the hill in April and May and kochia turns red in mid-October, changing the color of the whole slope.Loaner strollers cannot be reserved, so ask a staff member at the gate. For diaper changes, the restrooms at each parking lot and inside Pleasure Garden and Sakyu Garden have baby beds. Strollers must be folded to board the Seaside Train.
