- Fee：The car park is what you pay to arrive: 2,000 yen for a car, 500 for a motorbike, 10,000 for a coach at the village-run Seseragi Park car park, part of which goes to conserving the World Heritage site. The village raised these rates on 1 October 2025. Each historic house charges its own admission on top.■■
- Hours：People live here, so the village itself has no opening hours; what has hours is the car park - 8:00 to 17:00, last entry 16:30 - and the village office asks visitors not to arrive after 17:00. Between 9:00 and 16:00 cars are asked to stay out of the World Heritage area itself, which is why you park across the river and walk in.■■

- Booking：Nothing is booked to walk the village. Gassho-zukuri joins beams into a steep triangle, a shape made for snow that can pass 170 cm in February. Ogimachi agreed not to sell, rent out or tear down its houses, and refuses alterations that change how they look. The listing is said to honor not only the buildings but yui, the mutual help that still puts new thatch on the roofs. Wada House, a national cultural property of some 300 years, is lived in today.

| Stroller access notesExtra info — guide only | Yes | There is no railway station nearby; the way in is the motorway coach to Shirakawa-go bus terminal - about 1 hour 20 minutes from Kanazawa, 2 hours 30 from Nagoya, 50 minutes from Takayama, 1 hour 20 from Toyama. By car it is about 1 hour 10 from Kanazawa and 2 hours 15 from Nagoya. Park at the village-run Seseragi Park car park (about 200 cars) and cross the Deai bridge on foot to reach the village; when it fills, staff direct you to the Midashima or Terao overflow car parks. Residents' and delivery vehicles still use the lanes inside, so watch children.
