Basics
- Fee：Coming into the grounds, the shops and the eating areas costs nothing. Two things are paid separately. The athletic field 'Saiboku no Mori' is ¥300 for adults and ¥150 for children on weekdays, ¥400 and ¥200 at weekends and on holidays, free for pre-school children, and you can go in and out as often as you like the same day. The hot spring Kachofugetsu is ¥1,080 for adults (junior high and up) and ¥650 for children aged 3 to 12 on weekdays, ¥1,280 and ¥750 at weekends and on holidays. Long holidays and the new-year period can carry special prices.■■■
- Hours：Each part of the grounds keeps its own hours. The meat shop, the cafeteria and the farm-produce stand run 9:00-18:30, the Kitchen and the fruit-and-juice bar 10:00-17:00, and Restaurant SAIBOKU 11:00-19:00 with last orders at 18:30. All of these close on Wednesdays, except that public-holiday Wednesdays open as usual and July and December run without a closing day. The athletic field opens 9:00-17:00 from March to November and 9:00-16:00 from December to February, with last entry an hour before closing, and it also closes on Wednesdays. The hot spring works to a different rhythm: 10:00-22:00 with last entry at 21:00, closed one Tuesday a month. Hours and closing days can change with the weather.■

It began in 1946 as a small farm and now breeds, raises, processes and sells its own pork. The meat shop is the company's largest, and its delicatessen counter can sell over 2,000 croquettes and minced-pork cutlets on a busy day. Saiboku no Mori is a lawn with ten kinds of climbing frames and a 350-metre path, plus a smaller wooden set for young children. The herd moved to Yamanashi in 2002, and a hot spring found on the old pasture became a day bathhouse in 2004.

| Stroller access notesExtra info — guide only | Yes | By bus: 17 minutes on the Seibu bus bound for Saiboku from the west exit of Sayamashi station (Seibu Shinjuku line), 25 minutes on the Tobu bus from the west exit of Tsurugashima station (Tobu Tojo line), or 5 minutes on the Tobu bus from Kasahata station (JR Kawagoe line). Buses can run more than an hour apart at some times of day. By car it is about 5 minutes from the Sayama-Hidaka interchange on the Ken-o expressway and about 3 minutes from the Kawagoe interchange on the Kan-etsu expressway. At Restaurant SAIBOKU you can stay in a wheelchair at the table - tell a staff member. Anything you buy at the meat shop can be kept in the restaurant's fridge while you eat.
