Kansai Airport SIM & Wi-Fi Rental Counters

Save

SIM and Wi-Fi counters cover the arrivals and departures floors, plus one by the train gates.

Return boxes on the Terminal 1 arrivals floor take units back at any hour, even on a dawn departure.

More about this place (history, size)

The SIM and Wi-Fi desks at Kansai International Airport are spread over the arrivals floor (1F) and the departures floor (4F) of Terminal 1, plus Terminal 2. One more counter, Imoto no WiFi, sits beside the ticket gates of Nankai Kansai-Airport Station on Terminal 1's second floor, open 9:00 to 18:00, for a pickup on the way to the train. WiFiBOX, the unattended pickup service, has more than 650 locations nationwide including about 50 airports such as Haneda, Narita and Kansai; its Japan plans run from 300 yen a day for 200MB to 1,390 yen a day fully unlimited, and a 30-day pack brings that fully unlimited plan down to 488 yen a day.

With kids, here's the plan

If you land late, the WiFiBOX pickup machine near the arrivals exit on the first floor of Terminal 1 runs around the clock. There is no booking deadline, so you can take a unit the same day instead of queuing at a counter. If you would rather ask a person, the staffed Global WiFi north counter on that same floor is open 6:00 to 23:00. The unattended return boxes for JAL ABC and Imoto no WiFi on Terminal 1's first floor take units back at any hour, so a dawn departure still works. Terminal 2 has only two staffed desks, and its Imoto no WiFi return box closes at 18:00, so an evening return means crossing to Terminal 1.

Indoor / outdoor: All of these counters and machines are inside the passenger terminal buildings.
Stroller access notes: Terminal 1 has counters on the arrivals floor (1F) and the departures floor (4F), and unmanned machines on 1F that run around the clock. Terminal 2 has only two staffed counters, so the choice is narrower - but its two WiFiBOX units are open 24 hours. There is also a counter beside the Nankai station gates on 2F of Terminal 1.

Terminal 1 has counters on both the arrivals floor and the departures floor. Near the arrival gates, a pickup unit and two return boxes work around the clock. The fourth-floor pickup lockers split: the north never closes, the south opens at 5:30. Beside the train gates on the second floor, one more counter runs 9:00 to 18:00. Terminal 2 has only two staffed desks, but both of its WiFiBOX units are open 24 hours. Its Imoto return box closes at 18:00, so a late return means Terminal 1.
