There is no admission charge, and about 1 km of walkway is laid out through the gorge. The Manai Falls, dropping 17 m, can be seen from the viewing platform on the walkway without getting into a boat at all, and that platform is barrier-free, described as somewhere you can see the falls from a wheelchair.The gorge has restrooms, but nothing official says how many there are or whether any has a changing table. There is no parking lot reserved for the boats: if the No.1 Mishioi lot (1,000 yen), the one with the boat reception, is full, you will be walking in from No.2 Araragi (about 15 min / 700 m), No.3 Ohashi (about 20 min / 1 km) or No.4 Oshikata (about 25 min / 1.5 km). In peak season the roads jam and the lots fill, and a shuttle bus sometimes circulates from an overflow lot.
Inside a plain building, an earthen floor under a wooden roof, four bamboo troughs run in two pairs, and the somen comes down them with clear water drawn from Tamadare Falls in Takachiho Gorge. A baby in your arms can follow the running water with their eyes. There is air conditioning inside.You sit on benches along both sides of the bamboo trough; there are no reservations, and parties are seated in the order they arrive. Payment is cash only, with no credit cards, e-money or QR payments. The shop has no parking lot of its own.
The first pasture holds about 80 dairy cows, some 60 sheep and two ponies (as of September 2025), and you can push a stroller round to see them. The way from the car park to the entrance is a paved slope, and the entrance has no step but a ramp. Strollers are lent at the information centre beside the shop. Entry and parking are both free, so cutting the visit short costs nothing.The information centre has a nursing room and a baby room, plus a first-aid room and an AED, with staff on duty. There are three multipurpose toilets, all with sliding doors: in the car park (81 cm doorway, separate for men and women), behind the information centre (81 cm, unisex, warm-water bidet seat) and between the restaurant and the shop (82 cm, unisex, bidet seat). The site runs to 42 hectares and the walking is long, so count on a borrowed stroller or the free cart shuttle from the car park to the shop - call from the phone box in the car park and staff come to fetch you. To prevent disease, no pets other than guide and assistance dogs may enter. Check the opening calendar on the top page for closed days before fixing your date.
