KIX sits on its own island in Osaka Bay — the arrival airport for Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Kobe. Its baby rooms are notably family-friendly: they are built for everyone, not mothers only.
Baby rooms
Anyone may use the baby rooms, as a family. Equipment: diaper changing area, automatic diaper compression bins (no smelly bag to carry!), a nursing area (women only), hot water for formula, and microwaves in most rooms.
Strollers
Free loaner strollers at the Terminal 1, 2F information counter and the Terminal 2 domestic information counter. Your airline can often lend one too — ask at check-in.
Play areas
Kids’ playing areas are for children up to 6 years old with a parent — colorful corners to burn the pre-boarding energy.
Into the cities
- Nankai Rapi:t to Namba (Osaka) in about 40 minutes
- JR Haruka direct to Tennoji, Osaka and Kyoto (about 80 minutes) — the one-seat ride matters with sleeping kids
- Airport buses run to Osaka, Kobe and beyond with guaranteed seats and no stairs
Tips
- The diaper compression bins are a small mercy of civilization — change at the airport before the train.
- Terminal 1 is long; if your gate is far, take the stroller loan even for a “short” walk.
