New Chitose Airport SIM & Wi-Fi Rental Counters

Save

Seven rental counters for SIM cards and Wi-Fi routers, spread over two terminals.

Prepaid SIM vending machines in both terminals keep selling after the staffed counters close.

More about this place (history, size)

The SIM and Wi-Fi desks at New Chitose Airport come to seven counters across the two terminals, and four of them sell SIM cards over the counter: Imoto no WiFi on the domestic terminal's first floor, and Imoto no WiFi, Telecom Square and Global Wi-Fi on the international terminal's second floor. When the counters are closed, the prepaid SIM vending machines in both terminals still sell. The machine on the domestic terminal's first floor, PREPAID DATA SIM, has Japan plans of 5, 8, 16 and 31 days with unlimited data and a 61-day plan with 90GB, and the card is a 3-in-1 (nano, micro, standard), so there is no need to check your phone's SIM size beforehand.

With kids, here's the plan

Three of the desks at New Chitose Airport hand over only units booked before the trip — WiFiBOX and Anyfone Japan in the domestic terminal, and Anyfone Japan in the international terminal — while both Imoto no WiFi counters take same-day applications. The Imoto counter on the first floor of the domestic terminal runs 9:00 to 18:00 and closes between 13:00 and 14:00. If you land around midday, cross to the international terminal, where the second-floor Imoto counter is open 9:00 to 19:00 with no midday break. While you wait, the free NewChitose_Airport_Free_Wi-Fi covers both terminals and the connecting building, enough for maps and messages. On an early morning arrival, Global Wi-Fi locker pickup opens at 7:00, two hours before the staffed counter, and runs to 18:30.

other
  • Imoto no WiFi (Xcom Global) on the first floor of the domestic terminal is open 9:00 to 18:00 and shuts from 13:00 to 14:00, so a flight landing at midday cannot collect here.2026-08-18
  • The WiFiBOX and Anyfone Japan counters on the domestic first floor open with the terminal building rather than to their own posted hours, so pickup times close to opening or closing cannot be counted on.2026-08-18
  • The Imoto no WiFi counter on the international terminal's second floor is open 9:00 to 19:00 with no midday break, staying open an hour later than the domestic first-floor counter.2026-08-18
  • Telecom Square (Mobile Center) on the international terminal's second floor is open 9:00 to 17:00, the earliest closing among the staffed counters with posted hours.2026-08-18
  • The staffed Global Wi-Fi (Vision) counter on the international terminal's second floor is open 9:00 to 19:00.2026-08-18
  • Global Wi-Fi locker pickup runs 7:00 to 18:30, opening two hours before the staffed counter, so an early morning arrival can collect from the locker.2026-08-18
  • The official page gives no prices for the SIM vending machines, saying only that prices should be checked in person at the point of sale; to fix a budget in yen first, ask at one of the four staffed counters.2026-08-18

Counters sit on the first floor of the domestic terminal and on floors two and three of the international one. Staff sell SIM cards at four of them. The Imoto WiFi desk on the domestic side shuts from 13:00 to 14:00, so a midday landing should skip it. WiFiBOX and Anyfone Japan only hand over routers booked in advance. For an early arrival, Global Wi-Fi's locker upstairs in the international terminal opens at 7:00. The free airport Wi-Fi is unencrypted, so keep card numbers on the rented line.
