Indoors there is a toddler corner called Piyo Piyo, and children under 4 play on the smaller tower inside it, Mini Noppii. The picture-book room, Yomu Yomu, is indoors as well. Admission is free, so you can stay exactly as long as the good mood lasts and go home without having paid for a day you did not use. There is a nursing room inside, and a quiet room next to the information desk.Indoors, eating is allowed only in the main hall, Nandemo Hiroba, and wherever there are benches, and no one saves a spot for you. There is no supermarket near the center; the nearest shops are about ten minutes down the road near Okunakayama-Kogen Station, and there are two convenience stores along Route 4. Bring the baby food and the drinks with you. Hours are 9:00-17:00, and it closes on Tuesdays (the next day when Tuesday is a public holiday), from December 29 to January 3, and for maintenance in February, April, August and November.
Kenji's School is five rooms of light and sound. The Cosmos room is a giant kaleidoscope built from three mirrors, filled with the sound of a whale comet taking off and of stars glittering. The Water room uses effect lights to make blue water ripple. In the Sky room five of Kenji's tales drawn in light rain down, and the back of the adult carrying your child works as a screen too.The site's accessibility icons list a nursing room, an accessible toilet, an ostomate toilet, a wheelchair-accessible entrance and an AED; a diaper-changing table is not mentioned. Admission is charged only for Kenji's School, so the outdoor squares and paths are free. Outdoors, the Fairy Path runs over rolling ground among walnut, yamanashi pear and magnolia trees. The village opens 9:00 to 16:30 and closes on Mondays.
In the Kamimaru Cow Barn next to Makiba-en about 300 mother cows and calves live, and they are outside early in the morning - the farm's own model course puts Kamimaru at 9:30. Indoors there is the Kids Corner, a play space for small children, open until late October. The Moumou-go park shuttle carries you around without walking.Nursing is possible at only one place, the Makiba-en Management Center. Diaper changing is at four: the Sanrokukan toilet, the Makiba no Hall toilet, the toilet in front of the Makiba-en Management Center, and the toilet beside the taxi and bus waiting area. The baby-support listing carries the note that some shops close in certain seasons. The Moumou-go shuttle runs 9:30-11:30 and 13:00-16:30 only, so in between you walk. The admission table starts at age 5 and has no row for children 4 and under.
