The Challenge Cart is a ride only children aged 2 to 12 may board, 300 yen each. No adult rides with them, so the wheel is theirs to hold. There are also attractions where you hand fish to the sea animals and snacks to the land animals with your own hands. On the merry-go-round, children 3 and under ride free with someone 16 or over.The admission table starts at 3,300 yen for children 4 to 11; children 3 and under are not listed on it. The rental stroller covers up to 36 months and 15 kg, so once a child turns 3 you switch to the animal-shaped Original Cart at 1,500 yen, for children 5 or under who are 80-110 cm and up to 20 kg, taken same-day at the rental counter only. Splash Maze, a water maze rigged with buckets, mist and showers, is free for 3 and under. The panda-shaped mini coaster, Pandaful Coaster, starts at 90 cm, with someone 16 or over riding along from 90 up to 110 cm.
At Kishi, the last stop, the station building itself is shaped like a cat's face, roofed in traditional cypress bark. A shrine to Tama stands on the platform, and there is a layered stamp station too. In the stationmaster's room the cat stationmaster Yontama is on duty from 10:00 to 16:00, usually asleep, visible through the glass; her days off are Wednesday and Thursday. Inside the building, Tama Cafe serves cat-themed drinks, gelato and light meals.The cat stationmasters spend the whole day inside the stationmaster's room and do not come out, so you cannot touch them, and they do not wear the uniform or cap day to day. Visitors are asked not to tap the glass to wake a sleeping stationmaster or get her attention, and to keep the flash off. A child who arrives expecting to pet a cat will be disappointed, so saying this beforehand saves the moment. A cat may be off unexpectedly because of her health or the temperature, and the duty schedule can change at short notice. Preschool children ride free, up to two per accompanying passenger aged 6 or over. Kishi Station is unstaffed with no parking and no roadside parking either, so drivers board at Wakayama or Idakiso Station. A parent with a two-year-old spent 3 to 4 hours in total on the Wakayama - Kishi - Idakiso - Wakayama round trip.
The amusement corner is full of capsule-toy machines and claw cranes. At Ki to Mizu to Tsuchi to, the Shirahama-only panda pancake is handmade with a panda drawn in whipped cream, and at Pizza San Marco the Bambino, thick-cut bacon and sweetcorn on white sauce, is described as a favorite with children.The barbecue tables use open fire, so families with children are asked not to look away and to keep them from leaning over the railings. It is an outdoor facility, so it may close temporarily in strong wind or heavy rain. Your slot is 90 minutes, plus 15 minutes for shopping, up to 105 minutes in all. Pets cannot enter the market or the barbecue area; guide dogs and service dogs may.
