For fifty years the hotel has stood at the Hachijo exit of Kyoto Station, and people on that side of the station use it as a landmark.
It is split into two buildings, the main building and the South Wing, and every floor of both has one pair of connecting rooms, fourteen pairs in all.
You have to ask for a connecting pair in advance, so raise it when you book if you want the children's room to open into yours.
The newest parts are in the basement: OMOFU, a roastery cafe built around a large coffee roaster, and a capsule-toy corner that opened in April 2026.

With kidsThe part that matters
If you come in on the shinkansen with kids and bags, the hotel is about a two-minute walk from the Hachijo exit of Kyoto Station.
The cloakroom beside the front desk holds luggage free of charge before check-in and after checkout, so you can drop the suitcases and head straight out on your first day and your last.
In the basement, a child can put a coin into a capsule-toy machine, turn the dial, and watch a small toy drop out.
Breakfast cannot be reserved, so a full restaurant means waiting with the kids, but the roastery cafe in that same basement opens at 7 a.m. every day and you can sit down there instead.

Kyoto Station's Hachijo exit, where JR, the shinkansen, and the Kintetsu line meet, is about a two-minute walk away, so you can be in the room resting soon after you arrive.A baby cot for infants under 6 months is lent free (limited number). For 6 months and over the hotel does not lend the cot for safety reasons, so the baby sleeps in your bed instead (free for one child per bed, up to elementary sixth grade). For nursing and diaper changes, tell a staff member and they will show you where to go (no place or facilities are listed). Paths on the grounds and shared corridors are at least 120 cm wide, the front entrance is an automatic door at least 80 cm wide, and the elevators are wheelchair accessible. In rooms other than the barrier-free room there is a step at the bathroom.
