The subantarctic penguin pool is four meters (13 feet) deep and holds 200 tons of water, so a baby in your arms can look up at penguins moving through it the way birds move through open sky. In the Nagasaki Sea tank, three meters deep and about 120 tons, roughly 30 fish species from the local waters cross in front of them. The building is barrier-free, and walking the indoor exhibits takes about an hour.The nursing room is beside the shop on the first floor, but it has no hot water dispenser, so bring water for formula. The Mamaro baby care booth next to the second-floor kids' room also works as a nursing room and a diaper changing space. Baby changing tables are in the multipurpose restrooms. The building has two elevators. Strollers are lent free at the main reception desk, first come first served, with no reservations and a limited number on hand. If you drive, the second parking lot is the closer one to the aquarium. Children not yet in elementary school get in free.
The moving walkway, and the free Glover Sky Road, a lift that climbs the hillside on a slant, connect to a vertical elevator that puts you out beside the Former Mitsubishi No. 2 Dock House, the highest point in the garden. From there the route runs downhill the whole way, so you can carry a baby through it, walking the stone-paved slope with Nagasaki harbor and Mount Inasa in view.The garden has a multipurpose restroom with an ostomate fitting, a rest room, and a nursing room. Almost all the paths are stone paving with slopes throughout, and the garden itself says a wheelchair needs someone to push it. The Glover Sky Road stopped running on 13 August 2026 and restarted on the 14th; while it is out, the notice asks you to get off at the Oura Cathedral tram stop and enter through Gate 1.
You can bring the stroller inside, and the elevators are roomy enough to take it up to the dining floor. The dining room is on the fifth floor, where the sea-facing wall is all glass, so the harbour is in view from the table. A family who came with a 3-year-old and a 4-year-old wrote that plenty of other babies were there too.Reservations are not taken at all — not by website, app or booking agent — so you queue on the day. One family got in at noon after a ten-minute wait and found a long line by the time they left. There is one diaper changing table on the fourth floor, and the multipurpose restroom is on that same floor. On the city tourism site's barrier-free page, baby care facilities and stroller loan are both marked as not available here. Lunch stops seating at 14:30, and earlier on busy days.
