There are paid hands-on programmes called Discovery Guidance to choose from — an Aqua Live backyard tour, sea turtle communication, dolphin communication and others. On the third floor of Aqua Live a child touches rays and sharks themselves, and the fourth floor has sea lions, seals and penguins. The buildings connect by a third-floor bridge, so you cross from Dolphin Stadium into Aqua Live.A one-day ticket for a child of four to six is 1,700 to 1,800 yen, moving through four tiers by date. For Discovery Guidance, an accompanying adult also needs their own participation ticket — without one you cannot enter the area — so buy for everyone who is going in. Children in the third year of elementary school and under must be accompanied by a guardian, for safety. Tickets cannot be changed for another date or category; cancellation is free until the day before and costs 100% on the day. Opening hours vary by date, and last entry is one hour before closing. Bringing food and drink into the buildings is discouraged; eating is done at Sea World Plaza and the third-floor stands of Orca and Dolphin Stadiums, both outdoors.
Go! Go! Jet, a coaster that runs out of the park and back, takes riders from age 4, with a parent along at 4 and 5. At Treasure Hunter (800 yen) kids wash gems and fossils out of a bag of sand and keep everything they find. In summer the Aqueria pool and in winter the ice rink come with the same admission ticket.The big coasters go by height: Venus GP and Hurricane need 120 cm, Diablo needs 140 cm and does not take riders 9 and under. Measure at home and there is no argument on the day. Until they reach that, Convoy, which only children under 120 cm may ride, and the water-gun ride Fire Fighter are the ones they can only ride now. On a day without your own car you tour the drive-through safari on a safari ride; tickets are sold first-come on the day at the safari bus ticket counter in the amusement park, and phone reservations are not taken. In rain or rough weather the outdoor rides such as the roller coasters stop running, with no refunds.
The zoo says seeing every animal takes about two hours, a loop a child this age can walk. The animal science museum is stocked with animal books, magazines and encyclopedias, so they can go look up the animal they just saw.The information center hands out lost-child stickers for free, and if a child does get lost the zoo pages over the loudspeakers. Weekends and holidays are very crowded, and the parking lot is expected to fill between 10:00 and 15:00 on weekends and holidays from spring break in March to the end of May and from mid-September to the end of November, so the train is the sure bet: three minutes west of Hankyu Oji-koen Station. The zoo is open 9:00 to 17:00, and to 16:30 in winter from November to February.
The admission ticket needs no reservation and no extra fee, so the land courses are yours to roam. Points can be skipped, which means your child picks the ones they think they can do out of the eight areas and works through them in their own order. Chibidoland, the athletic area built for preschoolers, opened on 20 March 2026. Helmets and supports are lent free of charge, and gloves are sold for 250 yen.The preschool admission ticket, for ages 4 to 6, is 1,500 yen, and it does not cover the water, aerial or forest courses. If you want a child starting first grade in March or April to try them, buying the elementary school ticket at 2,000 yen even before they enroll lets them take on the water course, wonder amembo; it asks for elementary school age and 110 cm or taller, so measure your child beforehand. The forest course, Forest Adventure, and the aerial one, the Long Zip Slide, also ask for 110 cm or taller and under 100 kg, and in grades 1 and 2 a guardian aged 18 or over has to go through the course with the child. The forest course is booked and paid online in advance; the aerial one is sold on site on the day, first come first served. Sandals, Crocs and water shoes with drainage holes in the sole are not allowed on the courses. For getting wet on the water course there are changing rooms and coin showers, and you change there or in the shower room rather than outdoors.
