Tokyo Solamachi is the shopping complex at the foot of Tokyo Skytree, and it opened on May 22, 2012.
It shares a site of about 3.69 hectares (9.1 acres) with the tower itself, an office building, the Sumida Aquarium and a planetarium.
The food court takes up part of the third floor in the West Yard, its seats set around an atrium that looks down onto the fresh-food market a floor below.

When everyone wants something different for lunch, you can still sit down together here, because eleven stalls share one set of tables.
Eight of the eleven have a kids' meal, from 500 yen for four takoyaki and a drink, so most of the counters can serve a child too.
The tables run around the edge of an atrium, so your child can look down into the food market one floor below while you eat.
The nursing room and the stroller parking are a few steps away on the same floor, so a feeding or a diaper change costs you no elevator ride.
The stalls open at 10 a.m., an hour before the restaurant floors upstairs, so you can eat before the lunch crowd builds.

The Tabe-Terrace shops line blocks 3 and 4, so feeding and diaper changes need no change of floor. Of the four baby rooms in the building, only two, 3F block 3 and 6F block 9, have both a baby seat and a changing seat. Only 2 of the 11 shops, Ebisu Yakiniku Champion and Nangokushuka Harajuku Menhanbo, state that strollers may be brought in; the food court as a whole says nothing either way, and nothing forbids it. Note that the official floor guide marks a smoking area in 3F block 3, the same block as the shops.
