SaveContains ads | Our order isn't influenced by ads ▶ How we make money ▶ How we choose places
A complex of shops, a hotel and a cinema on the old Yebisu brewery site.
A covered moving walkway from Ebisu Station leads to the site, and Center Plaza holds shops, cafés and a food market.
MoreWhat kind of place
The site is where the Yebisu Beer brewery once stood, and the Ebisu district takes its name from that beer. It opened as a large complex on October 8, 1994, and today it holds offices, shops, a hotel and homes on about 83,000 square meters.
With kidsThe part that matters
Center Plaza's kids' corners are the main draw for small children. The home-improvement store DCM DIY place has a shoes-off play space with a small wooden ball pit.
Outdoor shop SORA had tricycles, drawing space and picture books in 2023. Center Plaza's free kids' space and the neighboring park kept a 3-year-old busy for almost half a day in summer 2023, with no shopping.
Sofas are scattered indoors, and the car-free plaza let a 1-year-old walk freely. The play spaces are small; for rides or a big playground, look elsewhere.
By age0-1 / 2-3 / 4-6
- Ages 0-1Indoors, sofas let even a parent who carries a baby sit and rest, and outside, a 1-year-old can walk freely on the plaza's wide, car-free paths. That suits the day one solo parent planned for a 1-year-old: a nearby ward kids' center, DCM's play space and TSUTAYA, then lunch and a last walk in the plaza.
- Ages 2-3Ages 2 to 3 are the most common among children in Jalan's visitor reviews. Trains such as the Narita Express can be seen from the underground passage, which one family with a 2-year-old found uncrowded on a weekend in November 2019.
- Ages 4-6The on-site Ebisu Garden Cinema charges 1,000 yen for children aged 3 to 6 against 2,000 yen for adults, and everyone pays 1,300 yen on Wednesdays.
By weatherRain, heat, cold
- Rainy dayThe roofed walkway from Ebisu Station runs all the way to the site, so one family with a baby stayed completely dry in March 2026 and had no stroller rain cover to fit. Once inside, Center Plaza and the underground passages are indoors, and the plaza's edge has a roofed path.
- Hot dayIn summer 2023, one family found a splash pond in the neighboring park just past the far side of the site, though the toilet beside it is squat-style. The site itself often puts up a beer garden on warm-season weekends, with an artificial-grass area where kids can play.
- Cold dayThat same roof keeps a winter walk out of the cold, and from November 14, 2026 to February 28, 2027, about 100,000 lights come on at 16:00 (17:00 on the first day). Weekend evenings in the Christmas season get very crowded, so a short look at dusk suits small children: one parent with an infant in 2025 saw the lights as it got dark around 16:30 and was on the train home after 5 p.m.

Where to go next
Where it is
The address is 4-20 Ebisu, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo (postal code 150-0013).source
Before you go
- With a stroller, do not assume every building has an elevator: Glass Square has only escalators inside, the east entrance of the Garden Hall/Room has none, and the YEBISU BREWERY TOKYO entrance is on B1 with only stairs in front of the building, so take a nearby elevator down to B1.
- From the station, the official step-free routes start at the elevator at the end of the Ebisu Skywalk (the covered walkway), which takes you down to the B1 passage; the official Barrier-Free Route page also shows routes from the underground parking garage, with photos for each destination. Partway along B1, the tower entrance has only an escalator, so strollers go about 70 m further to the see-through elevator up to ground level.
- Rental strollers (ShareBuggy) are at Center Plaza B1, and one family paid 220 yen an hour by card.
- The B1 nursing room is one locked room big enough for a stroller, though a visitor in 2023 hesitated to bring one in when another was already by the changing table, and one parent found it a little hot in August with a 4-month-old. The mamaro baby booth in front of that room fits one adult and a baby, and no stroller; the mamaro on B2 has the same interior, though one blogger's post from April 2026 notes it had no fan.
- Center Plaza opens 10:00 to 20:00 (some shops differ, and hours may change around New Year); YEBISU BREWERY TOKYO is closed on Tuesdays (the next day if Tuesday is a holiday) and around New Year, and the photography museum on Mondays (the next weekday if Monday is a holiday).
- Restaurants on the site are described as generally pricey (a November 2023 article), and Yotsuba Milk Place has no kids' menu; it does allow baby food to be brought in, and it is popular enough that one source advises taking a numbered ticket at the shop first.
- The Christmas market may be canceled in rain or strong wind, and Christmas-season weekend evenings get very crowded: one mother with a 2-year-old in November 2019 left before the crowd grew, and one parent of an infant in late 2025 advised a quick look around 16:30 and a train home after 5 p.m. If you come by car, parking spaces are limited and weekends and holidays are expected to be crowded, so the official site asks visitors to use other transport where possible.
