The international and domestic sides are joined on foot by a 2F walkway called YUINICHI STREET. Before boarding, the play area right beside the security checkpoint lets them keep themselves busy until the last minute.The Okinawan sun is serious, and kids' sunscreen is on sale at the airport drugstore, so a forgotten bottle can be replaced here. The monorail runs every few minutes and takes about 13 minutes to Kencho-mae.
The displays are arranged by depth, so the route works down from the shore to the offshore water, the Kuroshio current and finally the deep sea around 700 meters. You can compare the same Kuroshio Sea tank from three heights: the huge acrylic panel at the front, the viewing window partway up the tank in the Churaumi Theater, and the Kuroshio Exploration course that looks down on it from the surface. A smartphone audio guide is free to use and the building has free Wi-Fi. Admission is free for children under 6 and 710 yen for elementary and junior high students. Normal hours are 8:30 to 18:30 with last entry at 17:30, and from 1 to 31 August 2026 the aquarium stays open until 21:00 with last entry at 20:00.
Wonder Museum is Okinawa's first and only children's museum, filled with hands-on exhibits made to be touched and played with. On the 1st floor, Forest of Discovery has trick mirrors, motion-capture pieces and a space built around the popular Ball Coaster where you can test how balls travel. Two floors down, Sozo Kobo lets you move projected images with your body and build things from scrap materials at Wajabukuro. Elsewhere in the park, hands-on programs cover feeding the animals, pony riding and fishing.Wonder Museum cannot be visited on its own; it is inside the zoo, so you need zoo admission, which is free for anyone 15 or under. On basement floor 1, Tsukuru Lab and Fushigi Lab run workshops and experiment classes for children and adults together. The zoo's rules are worth going over with a child beforehand: no food except what the zoo provides, no flash or lights pointed at the animals, no shouting near them, no hands through the fences, no tapping on the glass. Hours are 9:30 to 17:30 on weekdays with last entry at 16:30, and 9:30 to 21:00 on weekends and holidays with last entry at 20:00; closed Tuesdays, except when a Tuesday is a public holiday, in which case it opens and closes the following Wednesday.
The aquarium is two floors: an evergreen subtropical forest upstairs and a clear sea downstairs, so going down a level changes the world. On the 2nd floor, Niibuyaa Zoo has feeding experiences with sloths and tortoises, and Kafuu Forest puts several kinds of owl close enough to study. There is also a creature hunt quiz, where you work from hints on a question sheet to find animals around the building, with a prize for a perfect score. A backyard tour goes behind the scenes.For feeding and photo experiences, children in the 3rd grade of elementary school and under must be accompanied by a guardian, at no extra charge for the adult. Feeding the otters, sloths or penguins is 1,000 yen each and takes about 5 to 10 minutes; the tortoises are 500 yen. Kafuu Forest takes its last visitors at 18:00, so go in before 18:00 if you want the owls. Admission for children aged 4 to 12 comes in three tiers by date, value 1,700 yen, regular 1,850 yen and peak 2,100 yen, and which applies on which day is shown on the operating calendar.
