The monorail leaves from right by the terminal and a stroller can roll straight on. Every station has an elevator, so you reach Kencho-mae in downtown Naha in about 13 minutes without lifting the baby out once.Nursing rooms sit beside the restrooms on 1F, 2F, and 3F, plus one in the international 4F food court area. Each has a diaper changing table, a sink, and a hot water dispenser, and either parent can go in; only the enclosed nursing booths are women only. Strollers are lent free at each airline counter. If your days are beach-heavy, the Barrier-Free Tour Center on 1F rents strollers you can take out of the airport for several days, for a fee.
In the Aqua Room the ceiling is an acrylic panel, so you can sit down and watch the fish swim past overhead. The building has no steps and ramps throughout, so the whole route works with the stroller.There are two nursing rooms, at the aquarium entrance on the 3rd floor and in front of the Churaumi Theater on the 2nd, each with a sofa and a hot water dispenser for making up formula; formula itself is not stocked, so bring your own. Diaper changing tables are on the 4th floor (men's and women's), at the 3rd-floor aquarium entrance and Coral Lobby (men's and women's), in front of the Churaumi Theater on the 2nd (women's), and at the whale shark and manta corner and the exit on the 1st (men's and women's). Disposable diapers are sold at the register of the aquarium shop Blue Manta, in size L only, for 9 to 14 kg. Strollers are lent free at four places in Ocean Expo Park, with no reservations, first come first served on the day and limited numbers; the one near the aquarium is on the 1st floor of the North Gate parking building, P7. The aquarium asks you to allow extra time, as the parking lots are some distance away.
The Children's Center has a picture book corner, a free space set aside for parents and children to slow down in. It sits outside the paid area, so you can break up the animal-watching with a stretch of turning pages.A stroller costs 500 yen to borrow and numbers are limited; wheelchairs are lent free. There is a nursing room, but its location, how many there are and whether hot water is available are not published, so asking at the entrance gate is the sure way. Admission is free for anyone 15 or under. You can re-enter the same day by showing your ticket to the gate staff, so stepping out for a nap and coming back works. The zoo closes when the storm zone of a typhoon reaches Okinawa's main island.
On the 1st floor, Kurage Yonnaa is a jellyfish area staged with light and sound. Held in your arms, a baby can follow the jellyfish drifting through the light. One child, taken five times between nine months and age three, wanted to come back here every visit. Also on the 1st floor, Churasan Reef is an underwater tunnel where fish pass overhead as you walk through.The nursing room and the diaper changing space are both on the 1st floor of the aquarium. Every floor has an elevator and ramps, though a few spots are hard to see from a wheelchair. Children 3 and under are free and must be with a guardian. Re-entry is allowed the same day: staff stamp the back of your hand with clear UV ink, and you show the stamp with your ticket to staff by the 2nd-floor entrance gate. One family with a six-month-old spent about three hours in the aquarium alone on a November afternoon.
