On the entertainment floor of the domestic terminal there is a play zone, DORAEMON WAKU WAKU SKY PARK, with a shop and café, and chocolate factory displays and observation decks stand nearby. A baby in your arms can watch the planes while the time to departure passes.Free nursing rooms are on nearly every floor: B1 to 4F in the domestic terminal, 1F to 4F in the international terminal, and 1F to 3F in the connecting passage. Most have a baby bed, equipment for making formula, and a sink, though a few are simpler. Hokkaido winters mean bulky clothes, and the easiest place to add layers before you go outside is on one of those baby beds. The loaner strollers are free but cannot pass the security check, so hand yours back before the checkpoint and carry your child to the gate.
A baby in your arms can watch the machines move the cookies along. The courtyard garden needs no ticket, so a stroller can loop it: roses in summer, illuminations in winter.The nursing room on the first floor of Shiroi Koibito House is open until 18:00 for nursing, baby meals and diaper changes. The first-aid room is on the same floor, and you can leave your own stroller at the stroller parking area while you tour indoors.
The Asian elephants in the elephant house and the giraffes in the Africa Zone's Giraffe House can be looked up at from your arms. The Polar Bear House keeps polar bears and seals.There are seven nursing rooms in the zoo: two at the Children's Zoo, one on the first floor of the Monkey Mountain Observation Rest House, four at the First Rest House, three on the second floor of the Ezo Deer and Wolf House, two on the second floor of the Giraffe House, one on the first floor of the Polar Bear House, and one at the Zoo Center. Hot water for formula is offered at six places in the zoo; ask the staff there. Multipurpose restrooms with a baby seat or bed are at ten spots including the main gate, the Zoo Center, the Children's Zoo, and the west gate. Rental strollers are for children 2 and under at 250 yen each, 10 at the main gate and 14 at the west gate. The main gate restroom closes for the winter.
Thirty animal houses - the Penguin House, Seal House, Polar Bear House and the rest - stand in numbered order on the zoo map, so you can take them one at a time with a baby in your arms. In winter, once enough snow has fallen, the Penguin Walk begins and the penguins pass right in front of you (usually late December to mid-March, most often twice a day).There are four nursing rooms. The one in the main-gate shop is a tatami room with a sink, running water, a curtain, and heating; the one beside FOOD BASE CAFE TOTORI is a western-style room with a water server, a baby bed, and a sofa; the one in the free rest house beside the central Seal House has two private rooms with a diaper changing table, an electric pot, and a microwave; the one in the Yasuragi-no-mori rest house has two baby beds, a sink, and a water heater. Strollers are lent free at each gate's ticket check (70 in all), but only during the summer opening season, first come first served with no reservations, and lending can be called off depending on weather or ground conditions. There are no multipurpose restrooms outside the main gate, in front of the west gate ticket check, or in the Animal Reference Exhibition Hall.
A baby stays in the stroller at the table: staff move a chair aside so the stroller goes in as it is, and there is no need to fold it. Reclining baby chairs are stocked too. In the red-brick Kaitakushikan you sit together in the main hall where the beer brewing kettle stands. Every restaurant in the grounds is entirely non-smoking.There are eight baby beds: the baby room in the Kaitakushikan entrance hall, the Garden Grill nursing room and its multipurpose restroom, the men's and women's restrooms on Poplar Kan 1F, the Lilac multipurpose restroom, the Garden Shop multipurpose restroom, and the Sapporo Beer Museum multipurpose restroom. The nursing room is in the Garden Grill. Multipurpose restrooms are on Kaitakushikan 2F and 3F, Poplar Kan 1F, the Garden Grill, Lilac, the Garden Shop and the Sapporo Beer Museum - there is none on Kaitakushikan 1F. Every building has a step at its entrance, but a slope is provided so you can go in with the stroller. Reservations are not compulsory, but the garden recommends them because the wait gets long once the tables fill up.
Strollers are welcome at every branch. At the JR Tower Stellar Place branch the table (box) seats take up to six. Baby food may be brought in, so a baby eats at the same table while the adults work through the sushi. All seating indoors is non-smoking.The conveyor-belt branches take no seat reservations. At JR Tower Stellar Place you take a ticket from the machine at the door (from 10:00 a.m.); scan its QR code with a phone and you can watch how many groups are ahead from anywhere, with the call coming by LINE or email. Seating happens only once everybody in the party is there, and if you miss the call they still fit you in within 15 minutes - after that the ticket is cancelled and you start again. Whether children's chairs and tableware are stocked differs by branch. The barrier-free restroom is not inside the restaurant but in the Stellar Place building.
Most of the rooms are private ones with sunken kotatsu seating for two to sixteen, each with its own door and walls, so a crab kaiseki dinner still works when a baby makes noise. You take your shoes off at the entrance, and there is tatami seating too. The whole restaurant is non-smoking.You take your shoes off at the entrance and ride the elevator up to the room. Listings say wheelchairs can enter, but with shoes coming off at the door, whether a stroller can be pushed to the table is another matter, so mention the stroller and ask for table or chair seating when you phone to book. Details of what they have for small children have to be asked by phone. Online booking through Hot Pepper and Gurunavi is for within Japan only, so from abroad it is a phone call. It is a five-minute walk from the south exit of JR Sapporo Station, or exit 13 of Sapporo subway station.
Once past the 18-month mark a child can go to the Kids Club and spend the time with English- and Chinese-speaking staff while the parents are on the slopes. The five programs are outdoor snow play, creative workshops, STEM exploration, cultural learning and eco-conscious activities. Winter here brings an average of 18 meters of snow between December and May.The Kids Club takes children from 18 months to 9 years. Booking ahead is required, and enquiries go to kidsclub@niseko-village.com, which is handled by non-Japanese staff only. The 2026-2027 season runs 1 December 2026 to 28 February 2027 and can shift with snow conditions. Rates are 25,000 yen for Morning (8:45-12:15), 23,000 for Afternoon (13:15-15:45), 36,000 for Full Day (8:45-15:45, lunch included) and 70,000 for Premium (8:15-16:15, lunch and Mini Kids included), with extra time at 4,000 yen per 30 minutes.
The outer path is flat and about 3.75 km around, so you can push a stroller the whole loop (1.5 to 2 hours). Moere Beach is 45 cm deep at its deepest, and a child not yet out of diapers can get in wearing swim diapers.Strollers are free to borrow: four at the general information desk on the 1st floor of the Glass Pyramid and two at the bicycle rental. They cannot be reserved, so it is first come, first served. Swim diapers are required for a child still in diapers. Moere Beach is open June 15 to September 2, 10:00-16:00, closed Thursdays.
